ETA: So, does it strike anyone else as curious that there are ~4500 machine guns registered in DC? I know they're "gov't" weapons, but it just seems insane when you're talking about a place that doesn't allow handguns or magazines over ~10rds.
Even more bizarre to me are the ~250,000 DD's registered in *CALIFORNIA*. Then again, maybe way back when, California wasn't the liberal wet dream that it is today.

California... Movie industry... Lot's of DD's for that very reason. Doesn't matter that there is no ammo for them...

No doubt that's part of it, but even still 250,000 is/was pretty shocking.
Cali has actually had these eye popping numbers for a *very* long time.
